This exquisite tea set embodies the great beauty and artistry that lies at the heart of all Uzbek painting. The intricate design reveals the subtle philosophy that runs through all artistic traditions of Uzbekistan, connecting us with the ancient masters. The rhythm of the soft lines coupled with the repetition of similarly-sized motifs resonates with the serenity and contemplative mood of oriental music.

The composition here reminds of us the décor embellishing the grand palaces of eastern sultans, and the complex geometric motifs pulsate with ancient symbolism. Like celestial bodies in the heavens above, each element of the design finds its proper place here, meticulously painted by the hand of acclaimed master Gairat Atabayev.

The main motif here is based on a bold medallion with a striking floral design. Executed in vibrant blues and edged with shimmering gold, these vivid images seem to have been lifted straight out of the Garden of Eden and pressed, still fragrant, onto the fine china crockery. The central medallions represent an oriental pond, an essential feature of any home or garden in Asia, and a sacred symbol of purification.

The rich vibrancy of the palette, the perfect harmony of the colour combinations and of course the composition typical of classic Uzbek painting make this tea set truly remarkable.

Gairat Atabayev is a true master with a poetic outlook on life. His elegant work nudges open the door to a noble culture that has existed for centuries, offering us a glimpse into the wonders of the Orient. Each encounter with his exquisite creations draws us into a world of complex geometric patterns, a small mirror in which the whole universe with its dancing planets is reflected through the eyes of master painter Atabayev.
